Transmitter Control Code

If you plan to use the Power Closer 1099 Annual Report program and you do not have a Transmitter Control Code (TCC) from IRS, you should use IRS Form 4419 to obtain one. It can be downloaded from IRS.

The reporting deadline for electronic filing is later than for paper filing. If you do not have a Transmitter Control Code and the reporting deadline is within 15 days, file an application for an extension online or fax Form 4419 to 877-477-0572 (toll free fax) or 304-264-5602, or request by phone at 866-455-7438 (toll free phone) or 304- 263-8700.

Filers who obtained a Transmitter Control Code (TCC) for filing 1099's by any method may continue to use their assigned TCC for electronic filing (filing over the internet). For example, filers who obtained a TCC for magnetic media filing by mailing a 3-1/2 inch floppy diskette may continue to use their TCC even though IRS no longer accepts the 3-1/2 inch floppy format.

If your name, address or taxpayer identification number has changed since you applied for your TCC, you should notify IRS. You may email IRS, and you should state your TCC in the email.
